These colours aren't referenced in the official Brand Guidelines, but have been utilised by Nothing in various scenarios.

Only use black and white for the logo. Never apply colour fills, gradients, or shadows to logo or graphic elements - see Graphics Do's & Don'ts section.

Typography

Five typefaces, each with a distinct, non-overlapping job. Don't mix font sizes within a single use of NType82Mono, NDot55, or Lettera Mono LL - they're built to behave like mechanical output, not flexible body copy.

NType82 Headline

Headlines only

Inspired by mechanical type, named after the Olivetti Lexikon 82 typewriter. Effective for one- or two-word statements - not suitable for longer text.

NType82 Mono

Body / preamble

A monospaced typewriter font. Strict mechanical usage: left-aligned, never mix font sizes in one block, tracking untouched.

Commercial success is never our starting point. Technical Warmth is. And if you have this intention when you start out, it will lead somewhere different. Somewhere good. It's when life always gets more interesting. We're this minuscule dot on the humanity timeline. It's not necessary to make a huge, self-important, profound mark. It's OK to contribute just a bit. Yes, tools have to work. But why can't they work for the mind? For the soul? Why can't we create really good products that make life work a little better - and help you feel a little bit better?

Rule	Don't change letter-spacing/kerning - it's a mono font by design. Tracking stays at 0, not optical or metrical.

NDot 55

Product names / logotype

A functional, industrial dot-matrix font, modelled on industrial dot-matrix printers. Used for the Nothing logotype and all product names. Never combine with other fonts in the same layout - its use is distinct and systematic. Do not use NDot for text outside of the logo & product names.

Smaller NDot55 sizes appear on physical Nothing products - these are design-team exceptions, not general usage.

NDot 57

Deprecated

In Nothing's early days, an alternative dot font, NDot57, was used for generic pieces of text outside of Nothing's logo and product names. It featured heavily across nothing.tech in 2021 and early 2022 as the main body text. Usage of NDot57 had all but disappeared by the release of Phone (1) in July 2022. Nowadays, combonations of NType and Lettera Mono LL are preferred.

It's easy to make something. Even easier when it's just like the thing before it. And the one before that. But like all good things, this one starts from scratch. No notes. No blueprints. No map to find our way back.

Small / legal text

Reserved for small informative or legal text - spec sheets, fine print, product callouts. Never used at display sizes.

Logo & product naming

How product names are constructed, spaced, and punctuated.

Spacing rules (NDot lockups)

Brand → product 2× standard space between "NOTHING" and the product name
Around brackets 1× standard space before and after each bracket
Inside brackets No spacing around the generation number/letter in NType lockups

Grid & layout

One grid system scales across every format.

1. Evaluate format Pick the canvas - 16:9, 1:1, 4:5, 9:16, etc.
2. Select column count Choose 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10 columns depending on density needed
3. Set margin Column margin = 2.3% of the format width, scaled from the bottom-left corner

Logotype placement

Alignment Always top-aligned
Column Any column except the rightmost, unless it's supported by additional text
Scale Logotype scales to the full width of its column - never wider
